Locomotive #3000 led a long life in the service of the Southern Pacific. The steamer was originally built around the turn of the century as an A-3 class and later rebuilt as an A-6 class by the SP at their Sacramento Shops in 1927. This workhorse spent its last years during the 1940's in the glorious red and orange livery of the SP's signature passenger service as it led the Sacramento Daylight which connected to the famous San Joaquin Daylight at Lathrop, California. It's hard to resist the crisp detail and decoration of this beautiful locomotive, not to mention the power of TrainMaster Command Control. Add a 2-pack of matching SP Daylight Madison cars and you'll have one blazing passenger consist!
