The #3 is a fully assembled coupler that is ready to mount directly onto your models. We know that not everyone has the time or dexterity to fiddle around with small parts so we've preassembled the #148 Whisker® couplers into #242 gearboxes ahead of time. Adding Kadee® couplers to your models couldn't be easier.
