Kadee #148 HO Whisker Self-Centering Metal Knuckle Couplers Kit Medium 9/32"

The Kadee No. 148 is my choice for my standard coupler. I've standardize on Kadees and I prefer the "whisker"coupliers over the No. 5 series with the seperater bronze centering spring because is is less "fittily" and easer to install. I replace all other makes, such as McHenries, because I've found the Kadees to be much more reliable and I prefer their all metal construction over the other's plastic construction. I like to run long trains and have found the McHenries pull apart where the Kadees do not. I also find the full size coupliers superior over the "scale" size as the scale size uncouple much more often at grade transitions.
