1/48 A6M2-N Type 2 Floatplane "Rufe" Kit from Tamiya.

Details:

Detailed 1/48th scale plastic kit for static display. Single engine, single seat, Japanese Navy seaplane fighter. Period of Service: Imperial Japanese Navy (IJN) 1942-1945. Nakajima Sakae 14 cylinder radial engine; large central float with small outriggers on wings; (2) 7.7mm and (2) 20mm machine guns. Markings included for 5 different aircraft. Appx. 60 parts in light grey and clear with recessed panel lines. Detailed Sakae engine and cowling, main float, and outriggers. Standing and seated pilot figures. Cockpit detail: the seat, cockpit tub, rear bulkhead, sidewalls, and decal for instrument faces. Beaching dolly for moving aircraft on land included.

MARKING OPTIONS:

A single sheet of decals contains aircraft code letters, serial numbers national insignia, stencils, and cockpit instruments for five aircraft: 1: 11th Air Flotilla, Sept-Nov 1942, Shortland Island in the Solomons. 2: Yokosuka Air Fleet, Flight Test Dept, Air Technical Inst. 1942-43. 3: 5th Air Fleet, Aug-Nov 1942, Kiska Island, The Aleutians. Aircraft 1, 2 & 3 Overall IJN Light Grey with Black cowl. 4: 452nd Air Fleet, Feb 1943, Shumushu Island, North Kuril. 5: 36th Air Fleet, June-Nov 1942, Balikpapan Aquatic Base, Borneo. Aircraft 4 & 5 Top Surfaces: IJN Dark Green. Bottom Surfaces: IJN Light Grey. Cowling: Black. NOTE: Kit includes 8x10 side views in color to help with painting. Additional paints Required: Flat Colors: Black, Green, Dark Brown, Flesh, White, Light Brown, Rust, Light Grey, Dark Grey. Gloss Colors: Silver, White, Blue-Green, Gun Metal.
