Moebius brings us a 1/25-scale model kit of the iconic 1961 Pontiac Ventura SD! The Ventura was introduced in the U.S. in 1960 under the Pontiac brand of General Motors. It was Pontiac's standard full-size car at the time with a 122-inch wheelbase, built on the B-body platform. It was available in three body types: a two-door hardtop, a four-door sedan, and a two-door convertible. The name "Ventura" comes from the name of a location in California. It was a unique model with deluxe wheel covers, a sports steering wheel, Pontiac leather-like interior materials, and Morrokide (Naugahyde) seats. The first generation was sold from 1960 to 1961, and it was later developed as an optional model for the Pontiac Catalina. From 1966 to 1969, it was added to the lineup as the Ventura, and then changed to the second generation.
This model kit is based on the first-generation 1961 Pontiac Ventura's sporty two-door hardtop type. It fully reproduces the relaxed styling that's unique to a full-size car. Plated parts such as bumpers and wheels create a luxurious finish. The interior's features, such as the dashboard, steering wheel, seat and door lining, have also been sharply sculpted for a fully three-dimensional feel. A V-type eight-cylinder engine is under the hood. The chassis of the B-body platform is reproduced with separate parts such as the suspension and axle, giving it a three-dimensional mechanical finish. This is a classic American car from the 1960s that every aficionado should build and have in their collection!
